WWE News – USA Network Allowing More Explicit Language In WWE The WWE has been PG for years now, but apparently, USA Network is being more lenient about the language used in WWE programming. In recent years, they have been following the guidelines set by the FCC, and although as a basic cable channel, they don’t have to, as they answer to their advertisers, but that’s all set to change soon. Basic cable channels have begun to push the envelope, especially with channels like FX and Comedy Central, and it looks like USA Network, the home of Monday Night Raw and Smackdown Live are going to follow suit according to Buzzfeed. Don’t get us wrong, we don’t expect WWE to return to it’s PG-14, Attitude Era type programming anytime soon, but the ability to push the envelope with language, or maybe even with blood could dramatically improve programming. As we mentioned, USA answers to their advertisers, and so does WWE, so it’s incredibly unlikely that AJ Styles or The Miz will be going around dropping “F-Bomb’s” anytime soon, but it will allow them to perhaps test the waters with more edgy content. The language is going to be pushed further on other USA or SyFy shows, but as we know, Vince McMahon has the final say on everything that happens in the WWE, so whether they want to follow the rest of USA’s programming or not, it will be interesting to see. So what do you guys think? Will this change anything about WWE programming? Will the world’s top wrestling company take the opportunity to push their language a bit further? Do you care at all?
