Elementary and Secondary

The city Windsor has a very diverse community. It has five school boards, containing both elementary and secondary. The main school board is the Greater Essex County District School Board. For the 2006-2007 school year, the Greater Essex County District School Board will be serving a projected 36,721 students while operating sixty-one elementary schools, fifteen secondary schools, an alternative secondary school program, an extensive adult and continuing education program, and seven agency schools.

The school boards specialized in French are respectively Conseil scolaire de district des écoles catholiques du Sud-Ouest and Conseil scolaire de district du Centre Sud-Ouest .  Other school boards include John McGivney Children's Centre School Authority and Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board

Windsor’s elementary schools excel in the rankings of the entire Ontario report system. Based on the tests given in grades 3 and 6, Bellewood Elementary School is ranking 18th in the entire province. In addition, John Campbell Elementary School is famous for its unique programs for gifted children.

The Secondary School education is high in quality. For example, Vincent Massey High School has enriched programs for students. It has many times, participated in various competitions funded by both Canadian universities, and American universities. The results are stunning as well.  

Post-Secondary

Windsor is home to the University of Windsor , which is Canada's southernmost university. It is a research oriented, and comprehensive university. It has a student population of over 15,000 full-time and part-time undergraduate students and over 1000 graduate students. According to statistics, it is one of the universities which give the highest amount of scholarship to students.

The university is just east of the Ambassador Bridge, south of the Detroit River. Windsor is also home to St. Clair College , a community college.
